Aims/Description: Learning in the workplace combines the best of academic and practice learning. It is defined as 'learning for work, at work and through work emphasising that professional knowledge is acquired in the workplace. Using this work based learning approach, this module provides the student with a framework to explore and identify issues in specialist practice whilst critically reflecting on their development and the evidence base to support their practice. In partnership with clinical supervisors and academic staff, the student will develop an individual, bespoke, self -directed learning contract incorporating relevant aspects to their specialist practice. The assessment will focus on a critique of the evidence for the topic they choose. This topic will be negotiated with their clinical and academic supervisor. Assessment includes submission of a learning contract and the academic evidenced -based assignment.
