Pre-requisites: MLT201, or GCSE French grade A*, or AS-level French grade B/C, or equivalent CEF equivalent CEF A2/B1- proficiency in the language.

Aims/Description: This unit aims to enable students at an 'Intermediate' or 'Higher Intermediate' level of competence in the language to work semi-independently, exploring an aspect of the culture or society whose language they are studying, normally in relation to their main field of study, in order to acquire basic subject-specific terminology and to develop essential research skills. Through weekly tutorials, students will be guided and supported in their completion of a written portfolio (1,000 words) and their preparation of an oral presentation summarizing their research and demonstrating their acquisition of relevant academic and linguistic skills. https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/mltc/lfa/courses/french/project_intermediate

Notes: Computer literacy (inc word-processing) advisable. Students taking this module will normally be expected to take French 2B (MLT202) at the same time.
