Aims/Description: Phase 3b of the MBChB programme builds on the prior learning of previous Phases of the course by giving students opportunities to continue their learning of clinical medicine under supervision and by apprenticeship in NHS hospitals and general practices in Sheffield and the surrounding region. Through completion of the placements during the phase students will also continue to acquire knowledge and generic graduate skills that underpin modern medical practice, and are needed by junior doctors. The phase runs from January to September and includes placements in general practice, acute and critical care, the student elective and an extended clinical placement both part of the student selected components (SSC) theme of the programme.
Restrictions on availability: Yes: Phase 3B is part of the integrated MBChB programme and is restricted to students studying Medicine.
