Aims/Description: The mini research project and dissertation is supervised by one or more members of academic staff. The topic of the research project will be set in consultation with the Course Directors during the first weeks of the Second Semester. Work on the project will formally be undertaken during the Second Semester. The aim is to expose students to the key skills required to complete a project with the major focus being on developing a wide range of experimental and transferable skills that will be subsequently used in a PhD/EngD project. The mini project will also assess a student's ability to undertake a large-scale original research project.
