10 Credits SPRING

Aims/Description: This unit will allow well-qualified students, who are already familiar with material in existing optional or core units, or for whom it is educationally appropriate, to undertake study in a specialist area. Teaching will usually be by directed reading, and assessment will usually be by project work. Possibilities for areas include further study of: Medical Statistics; Time Series; Multivariate Analysis; and introductions to: Extreme Values; Queueing Theory; Spatial Processes; Non-parametric and Semi-parametric methods. A student who has obtained 10 credits from PAS6031 may undertake further study of the area considered in PAS6031, or undertake study in a different area.
