Pre-requisites: MAS151, MAS252

Aims/Description: To provide the necessary mathematical framework to understand advanced computational methods for the solution of complex engineering problems. At the end of the course the student should: 1. understand and be able to derive the basic equations of continuum mechanics; 2. understand and be able to derive the basic equations of fluid mechanics; 3. have a basic understanding of how to use basic Finite Difference methods in the context of complex engineering problems.

Restrictions on availability: This module is for students in Civil Engineering.
