Aims/Description: The Study Year Abroad is spent studying an agreed set of Chemical Engineering modules at Universities with leading Chemical Engineering departments overseas. During this year, the student takes selected modules that are equivalent to core Level 4 modules of the Sheffield MEng Chemical Engineering programme. The other modules are optional as in Sheffield and make up the remainder of the 120 Sheffield equivalent credits. On return to Sheffield for their final year of study, the student takes units selected to ensure coverage of the core programme including the chemical engineering design project that is required by the IChemE accreditation.

The content of our courses is reviewed annually to make sure it's up-to-date and relevant. Individual modules are occasionally updated or withdrawn. This is in response to discoveries through our world-leading research; funding changes; professional accreditation requirements; student or employer feedback; outcomes of reviews; and variations in staff or student numbers. In the event of any change we'll consult and inform students in good time and take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.
