Pre-requisites: A-Level Biology or Equivalent Scientific Qualification

Aims/Description: This field course aims to provide students with the opportunity to design and execute ecological field studies, carry out data analysis and present results in both oral and written formats. The field work is conducted in local habitats and includes projects in which the entire group collects data for a single study and projects designed and carried out independently by small groups of students. These studies involve a range of sampling and ecological problems. Subjects covered at location a include insect population sampling, plant-animal interactions and the ecology and behaviour of ants and at location b subjects covered include inter tidal population sampling, interactions in rock pools and seabird behavioural ecology.

Restrictions on availability: Restricted to students studying APSU03, APSU06, APSU13, APSU14, APSU15, APSU17, APSU18, APSU19, APSU20, APSU21
