Aims/Description: This unit introduces students to the various processes and technologies used in the manufacture of products. It covers the various stages in the manufacture of a product including: energy consumption, environmental impacts, and the selection of appropriate operations. Also included are the materials and methods that may be used. On successful completion of this unit the student will be able to identify the fundamental methods and stages in product manufacture within their industry.
