Aims/Description: This unit introduces students to the roles, responsibilities and behaviours of professional engineers, including the ethical and regulatory frameworks that exist to support and guide their work to maintain published standards. Methods of personal and professional development will be examined, as will the role of reflection for learning and practice, the cycle of reflection and the importance of reflective writing in the process of development. The student will also be introduced to engineering and people management tools, together with the importance of effective communication techniques.
