Aims/Description: This module aims firstly to provide students with the means to develop critical approaches to dementia care practice and theory through understanding the fundamental elements of differing key influential models of dementia and dementia care. Secondly, it aims to provide students with clear understanding of the national social policy context and priorities for dementia alongside essential learning about expectations for professional practice and, in particular, practicable processes for ensuring safeguarding requirements are met, emerging from widely reported failures in UK dementia care provision.
