Aims/Description: The leisure industry is a product of industrialisation and economic growth and is important both as an economic activity and for the quality of life. This module gives an overview of the leisure industry with an emphasis on sport. It focuses in depth on five issues: the economics of professional team sport; sport┐s contribution to social inclusion; the management of volunteers in sport; legacies of mega-sports events; and the nature of leisure in future society.
