10 Credits AUTUMN

Aims/Description: This module consists of: - a main body of introductory topics (mathematical and physical introduction) - three speciality options - physics and chemistry of the flow: (1) turbulence, (2) multiphase, (3) reactive flows - a series of joint lectures on the topics of presentation of results and Quality Assurance in CFD engineering practice. This unit is a Compulsory module of the Doctor of Engineering (EngD) in Carbon Capture and Storage, and Cleaner Fossil Energy (CCSCFE) offered jointly by Nottingham, Birmingham, Loughborough, Sheffield and the British Geological Survey through the DTC.

Restrictions on availability: This module contributes to the doctoral training programme run by EPSRC CCSCFE Doctoral Training Centre led by the University of Nottingham in collaboration with Birmingham, Loughborough and Sheffield.
