20 Credits GRADUATE YEAR



Aims/Description: This unit offers the EngD in Machining Science students the opportunity to undertake a range of activities that will be of benefit to their continuing professional development, and also of value to the completion of their research. Following discussions with their supervisors, students will undertake 5 credits of compulsory activities relating to information management, plus further activities to the value of 15 credits from a menu of development options (or other relevant activities which have been approved by IDC Academic Director). Student progress in achieving the required credits will be monitored by the IDC Centre Manager. Satisfactory attainment of the required credits will be reported to the DDP Team.

Assessment: Credit awarded for undertaking personal & professional activities agreed with supervisor. 5 hrs is an approx./average figure representing the time taken with the supervisor to confirm activity has taken place & complete asssement form.
