Aims/Description: This module aims to enable students to analyse, evaluate and apply appropriate translation theories to different genres of texts. It aims to equip students with key theoretical approaches and practical strategies for the translation of a wide variety of texts including literary genres, advertising texts, newspapers, technical texts and children's literature. By the end of the module we expect that students will be able to: i) Understand the relevance of the distinction between different genres of texts in translation; and ii) Apply appropriate theories and strategies to the translation of different genres of texts
