Aims/Description: This module introduces the crystallography of solids (unit cells, Bravais lattices, Miller and direction indices). Point groups and their relations to physical properties will be discussed. This will then be related to the practice and application of X-ray crystallography, particularly powder diffraction techniques. A brief introduction to imperfect and amorphous solids will also be given.

Restrictions on availability: Only available to students studying GEEU01 and GEEU02
