20 Credits AUTUMN

Aims/Description: During this module, students will have the opportunity to undertake (unpaid) work in an area related to Informatics within a local organisation, i.e., in, or close to, Sheffield/ South Yorkshire. A limited number of placements will be available each year and these will be offered on a competitive basis for students to apply for. Students will be selected on the basis of their Level 1 and Level 2 performance (overall and within specific modules), their application and a possible interview between the student and a member of academic staff and a representative from the organisation. Students being awarded the placement will spend up to 1.5 days per week within the organisation working on a specified piece of work.
