HCS 221 Research Methods 3


Aims/Description: Final Year Dissertation. This unit is designed to give students the opportunity to design, conduct and write-up a small-scale research study under the supervision of a member of staff. Students will be required to attend seminars each semester of their final year which will include (1) Project guidelines and related research methods; (2) Departmental seminars in Human Communication Sciences, Psychology, Education, Psychiatry and related disciplines at the University of Sheffield. Students will continue to refine their research skills in the areas of experimental design, data analysis and reporting throughout the final year by working closely with the supervisor. Completion of ethics applications and drafts of work in progress are required.
