Aims/Description: This course provides an overview of grammar and the academic skills and literacy needed to produce written work of an acceptable standard for doctoral-level academic writing. For example in the form of research reports, literature reviews, confirmation reviews and theses. Topics covered include: structuring academic texts; word order and linking ideas; academic voice; prioritisation of information; coordination and subordination and other key areas as appropriate. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR NON-NATIVE SPEAKERS OF ENGLISH.

Restrictions on availability: The course is aimed at students for whom English is not their first language.
