Aims/Description: This module enables students to spend part or all of their second year overseas in an academic or hospital institution or to carry out R and D within a company relevant to the MSc Program. This provides them with wide-ranging experiences and opportunities that put their academic studies into context and improve their skills and employability. Students benefit from experiencing the culture in industry or academia, making new contacts and preparation for subsequent employment. The project will be supervised by a member of staff in an overseas clinical, academic or industrial environment exposing students to clinical translation, research and/or development experience relevant to this MSc Program. A tutor at the University of Sheffield will liaise on behalf of the program with both the student and the host supervisor. Placements can occur any time during the second year of the program.
