Aims/Description: This unit will introduce students of Japanese language at upper intermediate level to understanding aspects of Japanese society and culture through the use of contemporary literary texts. Students at this level will have had limited exposure to texts written in literary Japanese. This unit is intended to assist students in developing their knowledge of the vocabulary, grammar constructions, and techniques necessary for reading and understanding these texts, and to help students to develop an appreciation of contemporary issues through a literary medium.

Restrictions on availability: Only available to students on upper intermediate stream of EAST63 Japanese Studies
