Aims/Description: This module aims to develop the students' abilities in information retrieval from appropriate sources, and synthesis and critical analysis of published literature. It follows on from the information literacy training they will have received in CDL602. The scope of the review is linked to their research project; students will have chosen their projects immediately prior to the start of this module. Students will write a review of the recent literature on the background to their future laboratory research project, as if it were intended for publication as a short review article or as the background section of a grant application.
